======Victor's second officially created mission - Dogfight!======

Name: Dogfight
Levels: 1
Secret levels: N/A
Version: 1.0
Type: Single-player
Comment: Being a very huge level, it has all the normal traits of Descent ][,
like having a Guide-Bot and a Thief. This mission is action-packed,
and also contains some really tricky puzzles to solve. There is little
more to say - fun is guaranteed!
Tested (and completed) on: Hotshot and Insane
Remarks: Playing the mission on Hotshot is most ideal and challenging, though it is
possible to play on even higher difficulty levels. For a start, try Rookie
to familiarise yourself with completely new tough robots and solving puzzles,
and then increase the difficulty for more action! (However, on Insane, it
becomes sniping around corners again, which makes it boring.)

***NOTE: This mission requires Descent ][ 1.2 for custom robots and flickering lights.
Please ensure that you have applied the patch before playing. ***

Bonus mission: Computer Error
Levels: 1
Secret Levels: N/A
Type: Single-player
Comment: Want to experience all the bosses of Descent at the same time (except the
Vertigo ones)? Grab a COMPLETE arsenal and venture into the boss room with
the big guys all waiting for you. Type the cheat 'SILKWING' for more fun, as
the bosses start shooting at each other. Watch out for the Thief - there's more
         behind this cunning guy...

Files included in this zip file:
- dogfight.hog
- dogfight.mn2
- readme.txt
- walkthru.zip
- error.hog
- error.mn2

To play "Dogfight", simply extract the files "dogfight.hog" and "dogfight.mn2" to your
Descent 2 directory (which should be C:\Games\Descent2\Missions), execute the game,
and play the mission by choosing it from the mission list in "New Game". To play
"Computer Error", extract "error.hog" and "error.mn2" to your Descent 2 directory
as well.

If you encounter any in-game difficulties playing "Dogfight", open the "walkthru.zip"
file and extract all the contents inside it. Then open "walkthru.htm" to read a complete
walkthrough of the entire mission. In order not to spoil the fun, you are reminded to
have someone read it for you, so that you don't accidentally "solve" other puzzles
as well.

*****The author's words*****

What really sparked the creation of this mission is my tough and boring experience while
re-playing the original Descent missions on Insane. Yes! Insane! AND boring! It is not
really difficult if you repeatedly Save and Restore Game so as to perfect your fighting,
and all the game consists of is just dodging behind corners and sniping with your lasers.

I always wanted a mission where I can fully experience my weapons and get blasting like
crazy, but apparently none of the original Descent missions can fulfil this desire. Thus,
I created this mission (literally named "Dogfight") so that anyone can enjoy the ultimate
blasting experience. Every weapon has their showtime (well, actually not for the lasers)
and you will truly feel what a first-person shooter is.

At first, I did not intend this mission to be difficult, but as I continued making it,
I found that I unintentionally (and gradually) caused an increase in the difficulty by
adding immense loads of tough robots. Yet, it is thoroughly playable, and it is primarily
designed to be fun, so please try it without worry.

This mission contains quite a number of custom robots, which some have really powerful
weapons to enhance gameplay. However, I am quite sure that they are all destructible,
and you will have far more fun than frustration. To fully experience 'dogfighting', you
are highly recommended to play it on Hotshot (NOT Insane, and definitely not Trainee).

Wish you all the best - and prepare for Descent.
