Poet's Source Code Tutorials

PLEASE NOTE: Poet's Source Code and Compiling Tutorials are, at least for the time being, not available.
They were written before WOLF4SDL and they have not been updated with any of my source code achievements since 2006.
In addition they were for the most part made from images taken from the editor I used for working with the source code at the time.

All the tips found in my Level Design Tutorial are relevant even when you edit the source code.
But when editing the source code you have more freedom regarding several features including secret levels, ceiling colors and more.
And you can also add completely new features.

Some thoughts:

Is making changes to the source code necessary to make the best of add-ons for Wolfenstein 3-D?
No.
The level design is at least equally important as new features (I would say more important than anything)
in making interesting and entertaining Wolfenstein 3D levels/mods.
However, adding new features may greatly enhance the gaming experience of a given mod,
whether it is one that keeps the original theme or not.
And, like changes to the graphics and the sounds,
exe changes can be a good way to realise particular ideas that the designer may have,
and that otherwise would not have been included in the levels/games.
